Abu Dhabi is about to get extra arty. Bassam Freiha Artwork Basis is opening in Saadiyat Cultural District on 4 March. The venue would be the first personal artwork basis on the island, and was based by His Excellency Bassam Freiha.
Positioned within the Cultural District, Bassam Freiha Artwork Basis is a non-profit establishment. The centre goals to foster a cultural alternate between communities. Plus, it’ll showcase work by established and rising artists, and academic programmes.
Bassam Freiha Artwork Basis’s first exhibition is Echoes of the Orient, which brings collectively work from Bassam Freiha’s private personal assortment. The exhibition has been curated by the centre’s Director of Exhibitions, Michaela Watrelot. The artists vary from Arab modernists to Nineteenth-century pictures. Artists embrace Bassam Léon Comerre, Rudolphe Ernst, Jan-Baptist Huysmans, Paul Leroy and Fabio Fabbi.
Michaela defined: “This juxtaposition goals to catalyse a West-East dialogue surrounding the orientalist motion, promote crucial eager about the prevailing narrative ascribed to the orientalist artwork, and foster a deeper understanding of cultural alternate which transcends time and geography.
